Following a commemorative capsule remembering jazz pianist Bill Evans, Japanese imprint WACKO MARIA returns to celebrate another legendary jazz musician, Chet Baker, an American trumpeter and vocalist best known for his cool jazz tracks including “Almost Blue,” “I Fall in Love too Easily” and “Chetty’s Lullaby.”
In this collaboration, album cover art and images of Baker in his youth taken by photographer William Claxton are printed across a range of sweatshirts, rayon Hawaiian shirts, washed heavy cotton tees, tote bags, and mugs. Pictures include the Chet Baker Sings album art featuring Baker’s interpretation of Frank Sinatra‘s “Time After Time” track, For Lovers album art, and other images of Baker playing the trumpet and singing in the studio.
The WACKO MARIA x Chet Baker Estate collection is now available at the WACKO MARIA webstore. Prices range from ¥2,970 JPY for mugs to ¥39,600 JPY for Hawaiian shirts (approximately $24 to $317 USD).
