Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul are both set to reprise their Breaking Bad roles as Walter White and Jesse Pinkman in the final season of the spinoff Better Call Saul.

The news was confirmed by Better Call Saul co-creator Peter Gould during PaleyFest LA, but refused to divulge the exact details of when or how the two beloved characters will appear. “I don’t want to spoil things for the audience, but I will say the first question we had when we started the show was, ‘Are we gonna see Walt and Jesse on the show?’ Instead of evading, I’ll just say yeah,” Gould said. “How or the circumstances or anything, you’ll just have to discover that for yourself, but I have to say that’s one of many things that I think you’ll discover this season.”

Better Call Saul star Bob Odenkirk further teased, “If you can believe it, there’s more,” but was cut off by Gould.

During the show’s premiere, Gould also mentioned that it only made sense for Cranston and Paul, who starred in the revered series for five seasons, to appear in the spinoff. “These two worlds cross over in a way that you haven’t seen before, that’s for sure,” he shared. Meanwhile, Breaking Bad creator and Better Call Saul co-creator Vince Gilligan said, “It would be a damn shame if the show ended without [Cranston and Paul] appearing, would it not?”

“I personally feel that the two shows — ‘Breaking Bad’ and ‘Better Call Saul’ — are entwined even more than ever in the final season,” Odenkirk also told Variety. “And I think that’s surprising and cool, and it’s gonna make you want to watch ‘Breaking Bad’ again.”

Better Call Saul’s sixth and final season premieres April 18.

Elsewhere in entertainment, Brie Larson has joined the Fast and Furious 10 cast.
