HBO Max Drops ‘The Pitt’ Season 3 Teaser, Sending Dr. Robby Back Into the ER

HBO Max has released the first trailer and first-look images for Season 3 of The Pitt, the Emmy-winning Max Original drama starring Noah Wyle, ahead of a January 2027 premiere. Created by R. Scott Gemmill and produced by John Wells Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, the new season sets its return around Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch’s first shift back after a three-month sabbatical that closed Season 2.

The trailer frames the season through Robby’s re-entry to the job. In a voiceover, Wyle’s character braces for the return: “I knew my first day back was gonna be… hard dealing with what we go through here. And I knew that it could get a little bit crazy,” he says. “But it’s time to get back to it.” The footage then delivers on that warning, cutting through the frontline chaos the show is built on, with staff treating screaming and severely injured patients, performing chest compressions, and Robby consoling a grieving family member after tragic news, alongside more disorder in the department’s hallways and bays.

The teaser arrives with a returning ensemble intact. Wyle is joined by Patrick Ball as Dr. Langdon, Katherine LaNasa as Dana Evans, Fiona Dourif as Dr. McKay, Taylor Dearden as Dr. King, Isa Briones as Dr. Santos, Gerran Howell as Dr. Whitaker, Shabana Azeez as Javadi, Ayesha Harris as Dr. Ellis, Sepideh Moafi as Dr. Al-Hashimi, and Shawn Hatosy as Dr. Abbot. The series keeps to its stated premise, a realistic look at the pressures on healthcare workers in present-day America through the staff of a modern Pittsburgh hospital.

The new season follows a strong awards run. Season 2, which premiered this past January, drew a haul of Emmy nominations across the drama categories, including outstanding drama series, lead actor for Wyle, and multiple supporting nods for the cast.
