New Balance Officially Unveils Its "Conversations Amongst Us Collection"
Joe Freshgoods creative directed the capsule which features the 2002R, 550 and apparel pieces.
Since putting out his New Balance 992 collaboration during NBA All-Star Weekend 2020, Joe Freshgoods has become a household name in the footwear space. His relationship with New Balance continues to blossom, and after cooking up a New Balance 990v3 “Outside Clothes” capsule, he’s been appointed the creative director for the brand’s latest “Conversation Amongst Us Collection.” The assemblage features footwear and vintage-inspired apparel, the former of which will feature models such as the 2002R, 574, 550 and the Kawhi 2.
Shining a light on Black creativity is an element that Joe Freshgoods wanted to emphasize with this new collection, so he teamed up with an all-Black product team titled The Black Soles at New Balance, specifically Associate Product Managers and Designers, Jordan Johnson and Kevin Trotman to lead the initiative. Kicking things off on the footwear front will be the 2002R and 550 installments, both of which are guided by creamy uppers and yellow accents. In the apparel category, the Boston sportswear brand has readied graphic tees, a fleece hoodie, crewneck and sweatpants.
Peep a look at the collection above and note that it will be available starting April 15 via New Balance. Shoes will range from $120-$130 USD while the apparel will retail between $40-$85 USD. HBX will also be dropping the kicks on April 14 at 9PM EDT.
