Raf Simons Drops New Skeleton Cuffs, Chunky Chains and Swarovski Necklaces for SS22

Raf Simons‘ Spring/Summer 2022 collection combined jewelry with clothes in ways that made the accessories part of the outfit, insisting that bracelets don’t need to be worn on the wrist for example. Now, the SS22 collection has landed at the Parisian concept store The Broken Arm.
While we’ve previously seen Simons’ skeleton hand ring, the new and extensive drop takes this motif one step further while also drawing on codes of the designer’s past collections. Notably, a duo of skeleton bracelets made from chrome brass and covered in Swarovski cluttered strass embellishments follows on from the FW21 iterations, and as they were styled on the runway, they can act as both a cuff bracelet or they can be worn higher up the arm for a real fashion statement.
Elsewhere, the skeleton motif adorns a necklace in the same theme as the aforementioned ring, while other necklaces also appear. These include the brass coin-like necklace that’s covered in Swarovski crystals once more, this time around in a more organic array, while rounding out the collection is a chunky cluster chain necklace and bracelet combination made of polished gathered rings constructed from brass.
All of the jewelry on offer is the perfect accouterment to any head-to-toe Raf Simons outfit, lending themselves well to the designer’s subverted and avant-garde take on deconstructing traditional sartorial codes. And just to make sure everyone knows it’s Raf, a small “R” emblem appears on all the necklaces and the chunky bracelet.
