2022 is the 35th-anniversary of Tinker Hatfield‘s iconic Air Max 1 silhouette. To celebrate the occasion, Nike will be delivering a series of special releases on Air Max Day including the upcoming “Wabi-Sabi” Air Max 1 pictured above.

Wabi-Sabi is a Japanese aesthetic concept that preaches the acceptance of flawed beauty and the appreciation of the imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete. Embracing the philosophy, the vintage-inspired pairs arrive in earthy suede panels contrast stitched across a white canvas base.

“XXXV” stitching appears on the lateral heel and “3.26” is featured on the tongue tab in commemoration of the silhouette’s 35th-anniversary. Below, a pre-yellowed Air unit midsole featuring a fault line crack and a worn gum outsole complete the special-edition pairs.

Take a scroll through the images above, and anticipate the Nike Air Max 1 PRM “Wabi-Sabi” to arrive at Nike’s website and select retailers on Air Max Day, March 26, 2022.
