Missoni Crowns Filippo Grazioli as Its New Creative Director
Grazioli previously worked at Hermès and under Riccardo Tisci at both Givenchy and Burberry.
The luxury Italian fashion house Missoni has announced that Filippo Grazioli will be taking over from Alberto Caliri as the brand’s Creative Director. Grazioli will head up the men’s and womenswear lines while also supervising the brand’s lifestyle sector, and will be joined by Caliri who will now look after Missoni Home and Missoni Sport.
Grazioli has previously worked with Martin Margiela on the house’s womenswear line, and was Hermès’ senior womenswear designer before working alongside Riccardo Tisci at both Givenchy and Burberry, respectively.
Added to an Instagram post, Livio Proli, CEO of Missoni said: “In accordance with the family and FSI Fund, we have elected Filippo Grazioli, a young designer who can — however — count on 18 years of solid experience in prestigious fashion companies, to raise Missoni’s profile and image in the luxury market and further strengthen the modernization process already initiated. He takes over from Alberto Caliri, a long-serving member of the company, and successful designer of the last two collections. Alberto Caliri will head up the Home Collection, with creative supervision by Rosita Missoni. Thanks to these two new appointments, the company is strengthening its foundations for the future. We offer our best wishes for future success to Alberto Caliri and Filippo Grazioli, in the knowledge that Missoni is already well on the way to the construction of a Community which enjoys a prestigious reputation in the luxury market while maintaining a high level of commitment to virtuous and positive behavior.”
The new Creative Director’s first collection will be the men’s and women’s pre-collection in May, while his first runway will be for Spring/Summer 2023, showing at Milan Fashion Week.
