Following Études‘ appointment as Aigle’s artistic director, the French label and the pioneer of messenger bags ,Manhattan Portage, announced their capsule collection of messenger bags which pays homage to UK culture in the ’90s. Founded by French artists Aurélien Arbet, Jérémie Egry, and José Lamali in 2012, Études is an integration of a fashion brand, a publishing house, and a creative studio.
The latest collection immortalizes the European underground scene in the ’90s with two messenger bags, a backpack, and a shoulder bag, adorned with embroidered patches that incorporate motifs such as classic Greek icons and modern metal-style fonts. In addition, the bag tag sees a crossover of the two brands’ logos and is the first-ever blue tag in the history of Manhattan Portage, which is the brand color of Études.
The Manhattan Portage x Études capsule collection will be on sale from Saturday, March 5, at select Manhattan Portage stores, online stores, and select authorized Études dealers. Prices range from ¥11,440 JPY (approximately $100 USD) for the Études City Lights Bag to ¥50,050 JPY (approximately $435 USD) for the Études Bike Messenger Bag.
