Latto and DJ Khaled Serve a Mariah Carey Fantasy on "Big Energy" Remix

Latto has dropped the official “Big Energy” remix with DJ Khaled and Mariah Carey, loaning elements from MC’s chart-topping 1995 hit “Fantasy.”
The Atlanta rapper took to Twitter on Monday to detail exactly how the collaboration, which also includes a sample of Tom Tom Club’s 1981 single “Genius Love,” took form.
“I originally thought Mariah for the remix back in like November when it first started going up, but didn’t think I could get her realistically,” she wrote. “Fast fwd I said fuck it and reached out. She was down.”

“I’ma be your fantasy / You ain’t gon’ believe this / Hold up, got Mimi on the remix,” Latto raps, while Carey takes the chorus, “Oh, when you walk by every night / Talking sweet and looking fine / I get kind of hectic inside.”
Latto last week released her sophomore album 777, with features from Lil Wayne, Childish Gambino, 21 Savage, Lil Durk, Nardo Wick and Kodak Black.
Prior to the album’s debut, Latto shared her highest-charting single, “Big Energy,” which secured the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Emerging Artists chart in January, broke into the Hot 100’s top 20 earlier this month and ultimately inspired her Mariah Carey crossover today.
