Nike SB Dunk High Inspired by the San Francisco Giants Surfaces
The Swoosh’s skate label adds another MLB-inspired colorway to its arsenal.
Nike SB is bombarding the sneaker community with fresh Dunk colorways this season, and one trend that has started to pick up in 2022 is the release of MLB-inspired makeups. We’ve seen the Swoosh’s skate label unveil a New York Mets-inspired iteration and a Philadelphia Phillies variant, and now the Nike SB Dunk High “San Francisco Giants” offering has emerged on the scene.
The Bay Area baseball club’s signature colors are translated throughout the upper. A soft mesh material makes up the toe boxes and quarter panels while the overlays are brought to life in suede, and all of these components mimic the team’s off-white home uniforms. Swooshes are filled in with black and come outlined with bold orange stitchings to channel the eight-time champion’s accent colors. If you peak over onto the interior sides of the tongues you’ll notice that the left shoe features a kayak icon while the right shoe is stamped with a brown baseball glove. The former represents the boats that park out in McCovey Cove behind Oracle Park’s right field while the latter calls out the venue’s oversized glove that is stationed in the left field bleachers. Pink blobs also show up on the outsoles which are symbolic of chewing gum.
No official release dates have been announced just yet but you can likely expect skate shops to drop these in the coming weeks.
In other news, the Nike Air Max 90 has appeared in a “Pro Green” colorway.
