On-Foot Look of the Nike SB Dunk High "Mets"
Bubblegum sole marks and MTA logos arrive on the MLB-inspired rendition.
Nike and its Nike SB team have gained a substantial amount of steam in recent memory thanks to the high volume of colorways that they’ve brought to light. From a Bart Simpson-inspired makeup to a hiker-friendly collaboration with Australia-based retailer PASS~PORT, the sub-label has been blessing fans with many previews of its upcoming initiatives, and now it’s added the Nike SB Dunk High “Mets” to its roster.
The kicks first surfaced earlier this month, but now we have a detailed on-foot look at them. To mimic the MLB team’s road jerseys, the Swoosh fits the shoes’ suede overlays and canvas-treated toe boxes, quarters and collars with a lighter gray hue, and complements this with darker blue Swooshes and interior liners. Bold orange hits border the Nike checks and spill on the tongue’s Nike branding to further nod to the baseball squad’s colors. On the interior side of the tongues, you’ll find the shoes splitting between a Mets-inspired apple logo on the right that reads “Home Run” while the left shoe has the MTA 7 logo to shout out the train that leads you directly to Citi Field. To complete its baseball motif, Nike slaps on a faux bubblegum mark on the right shoe’s outsole, and this is paired up with gum treading that likely represents the dirt found on a baseball diamond.
No release info has been announced yet but you can likely see these dropping via skate shops in the coming months.
In case you missed it, on-foot images of the Nike SB Dunk Low “Paisley” have popped up.
