After upwards of 30 years in the music business, Daddy Yankee will be retiring. The Puerto Rican rapper is known for coining reggaeton and introducing the genre to an international audience with his 2004 hit “Gasolina.” On Sunday, he shared the news of his retirement in a heartfelt video posted to his YouTube channel

“This race, which has been a marathon, finally sees the finish line. Now, I am going to enjoy what all of you have given me,” he said in the video, translated per CNN. “People say that I made this genre worldwide, but it was you who gave me the key to open the doors to make it the biggest in the world.”

Ahead of retiring for good, Daddy Yankee will put out one last album. Entitled Legendaddy, the LP drops this Thursday, March 24. It’ll be the first full-length project from the rapper in a decade, following 2012’s Prestige. More recently, he’s been appearing as a guest feature on other artists’ tracks, including Eladio Carrión’s “TATA” remix.

“I’ll give you all the styles that have defined me on one album. Legendaddy — it’s fight, it’s party, it’s war, it’s romance,” Daddy Yankee continued.

Daddy Yankee’s Legendaddy is out for streaming this Thursday, March 24.

In other music news, Kanye West’s Grammys performance has officially been canceled.
