A-COLD-WALL* Readies Converse Aeon Active CX Collaboration
Radical laceless pairs from Samuel Ross.
Following a Dr. Martens collaboration revealed earlier this month, Samuel Ross‘ A-COLD-WALL* joins forces with Converse for the first time since 2020 to deliver a pair of laceless low-top sneakers dubbed the A-COLD-WALL* x Converse Aeon Active CX.
Instead of turning to Converse’s classic Chuck Taylors or Jack Purcells as seen with most other collaborations, Ross opts for a futuristic performance-oriented sneaker to impart his signature touch.
The upcoming laceless sneakers arrive in silver paneled mesh uppers featuring distorted seasonal codes across the laterals and pull tabs skillfully integrated into the tongue and heel sections. Collars are lined in soft orange hues, and thick teal midsoles below exhibit a texture similar to rough concrete, a recurring theme in Ross’ works. A swab of yellow calls attention to the stacked ACW logos along the forefoot, and icy semi-translucent rubber pieces extend from the upper heel section, echoing the form and materials used for the outsole grips.
A black and neon yellow take on the sneakers has also been teased, though it’s unclear whether it will be a Friends and Family release.
A registration link is now live on the A-COLD-WALL* website promising the latest updates.
