Rare 1987 Buick GNX With Just 865 Miles Could Fetch Over $200,000 USD
The Hellcat of the ’80s, if you will.

Only 547 Buick GNXs were ever made, and now a pristine 1987 example with just 865 miles has landed on Bring a Trailer. It’s one of the most recognizable American muscle cars of all time, standing against other U.S. giants such as the Mustang as a formidable machine.
Naturally, the car comes in black — marking this as the Grand National Experimental that was developed in association with McLaren Performance Technologies/ASC to celebrate the end of the vehicle’s production run. Heat-extracting fender vents, composite wheel arch flares, a three-piece rear spoiler, and GNX badging all add to the car’s specific design treatment that makes this stand out as the GNX, while 16” cross-lace rims further accentuate this car’s provenance.
Under the hood is a modified 3.8-liter V6 that’s paired with a Garrett T3 turbocharger to produce 276 HP and 360 lb-ft of torque. While these figures are nowhere near today’s muscle car stats, it was enough to send the RWD model to 62 MPH in 4.7 seconds before hitting a top speed of 124 MPH.
In many ways, this car was the Dodge Hellcat of the ’80s. Like that car, it also sold for a profit off the forecourt and now it can be found on Bring a Trailer with a bid of $165,000 USD as of writing. Six days of bidding are left, and more info can be found online.
In other news, a Ferrari LaFerrari prototype test mule is also heading to auction.
