Official Images of the sacai x Nike VaporWaffle "Black/Gum"

Since Chitose Abe debuted her first run of footwear collaborations with Nike back in May 2019, the Swoosh has entrusted her to continue impacting the space with innovative and fashion-forward propositions. In 2022, the two parties will be rolling out more offerings for crazed sneakerheads, one of which is the sacai x Nike VaporWaffle “Black/Gum” colorway. The shoes first surfaced in early 2021, but now we finally have an official look at the pair.

Save for the white tongue banners that are present on the double-stacked tongues and the muted gray branding that is printed on the heels, the upper halves are done up with a stealthy aesthetic. Abe’s forthcoming creation is realized with a blend of canvas underlays, sultry suede overlays atop the throat and toe tips and solid black leathers that make up the Swooshes and overlays on the rear end. Down below, the model features a chunky midsole unit that’s also coated in black and separates at the heels, and this comes mated with a full gum waffle outsole.

A release for these is likely going down in the coming months alongside the “White/Sail” pair. Retail is set at the usual $180 USD.
