Vans has teamed up with renowned Chinese artist Chen Yingjie, better known as HuaTunan, to create a capsule dedicated to celebrating the Year of the Tiger.

Inspired by his famous Stay Hungry artwork, HuaTunan aligned the capsule with his interpretation of the tiger spirit: exploration, adventure, and perseverance.

Realised across classic Vans silhouettes like the Authentic, Sk8-Hi and Old Skool, HuaTunan combined urban street vibes with natural elements, which resulted in splashed ink, oracle bone inscriptions, and modern city street signs.

The Authentic silhouette carries street ink graphics with a transparent outsole to present the vivid style of the tiger, while the Sk8-Hi Echo DX offers a more detailed iteration of the Sk8-Hi. Two takes of the Old Skool arrive too: one equipped with a black suede upper and a hand-drawn pattern, the other with ink paint and a “Stay Hungry” slogan.

Complete with a selection of apparel, the Vans x HuaTunan “Year of the Tiger” collection is available now via the Vans webstore.

In other news, artist Ade Okuboyejo has presented his Dobale x Vault by Vans “Forever Sunny in Ikoyi” collection.
