Gentle Monster Delivers Starry-Eyed "BOLD" Sunglasses Collection
Marking the inaugural drop under the Korean label’s daring new product line.
From 2023 onwards, Gentle Monster will introduce its most daring eyewear silhouettes under a new product line, aptly titled “BOLD.” In its first iteration, dubbed “Galaxy of 9 Evenings,” the Korean label draws inspiration from the trailblazing 1966 performance series 9 Evenings: Theatre and Engineering, which gained notoriety for blurring the boundaries between art and science.
Across the range, Gentle Monster incorporates a star motif to symbolize the collection’s forward approach. Among the designs, the Bandoneon.S offers an oval silhouette in both subdued and bright colorways, and the Silver Clouds shape appears in a vibrant light green, with acute top corners and a curved under-eye design. Meanwhile, the Parabola frame boasts a sharply structured rectangular build; the Billy sunglasses opt for the classic square, and the Bell is full of attitude with a thick, rounded take on rectangular shades.
Among the standouts, the R.E.A.T frame enlists a futuristic aviator shape with softly-curved temples, resulting in an ultra-sporty look. Arriving in explorative colorways, including a sparkling blue and purple hologram, the style embodies Gentle Monster’s no-holds-barred approach to the “BOLD” collection at large.
