Summary

Maison Margiela and Gentle Monster have introduced their fourth collaborative collection exploring concepts of deconstruction across 43 sunglasses and 25 optical frames

The designs introduce exaggerated proportions second-skin leather wrapping and floating executions of Margiela’s signature four white stitches

The launch is accompanied by an Alex Prager-directed short film and dedicated pop-up installations opening October 29 across eight global cities

Maison Margiela and Gentle Monster have officially unveiled their fourth collaborative eyewear collection, presenting an extensive line of sunglasses and optical frames anchored by the creative philosophy of deconstruction.

Elevating and distorting familiar eyewear silhouettes, the collection comprises 43 sunglasses and 25 optical frames that explore modified, crushed, and reconstructed forms. Exaggerated, high-volume frames shield the wearer’s face while expanding peripheral vision, contrasted by narrow, upswept profiles tightly encased in leather to create a seamless “Second Skin” effect. Throughout the range, Maison Margiela’s four white stitches accent the temples, with slimmer models introducing a new application where the stitching appears woven to float along the frame’s perimeter.

The launch is supported by a campaign short film directed by Alex Prager, following a protagonist navigating an shifting urban landscape during a ten-minute countdown. To accompany the rollout, immersive pop-up spaces featuring unfinished, irregular architectural aesthetics will open across eight international cities—including Seoul, Tokyo, Shanghai, Beijing, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Melbourne, and Paris. In Seoul, an exclusive live performance conceived by choreographer Damien Jalet and artist Ian McMahon will celebrate the launch by translating deconstruction into physical movement.

The fourth Maison Margiela x Gentle Monster eyewear collection launches on October 29, 2026, alongside pop-up locations worldwide, with full release details hosted on Maison Margiela and Gentle Monster.
