Mr. Saturday Heads to the Skies With Roots Collaboration
Inspired by vintage air travel.
Joey Gollish’s label Mr. Saturday has teamed up with Roots for a new capsule collection. Titled “Roots Saturday Airlines,” the collaboration is inspired by vintage travel and exalts the two entities’ Canadian spirit.
Infused with a retro aesthetic, the collection looks at the elevated elements of 70s air travel. Alongside diving into travel history, Gollish was also inspired by Roots Air when designing the new offering. Comprising the collaboration are jackets, hoodies with matching sweatpants and t-shirts – appearing in shades of slate, sapphire blue and dusty white.
Across the collection pieces are retro-futurist graphic designs that include Airline-inspired graphics, co-branded screenprinted detailing and the phrases “See You Soon” and “Good Luck.” Most notable is a Pan Am Airways-inspired design with “RSA” that appears on jackets and hoodies. A collection highlight is the black leather jacket with a shearling collar, Dolman-shaped sleeves and the embroidered Pan Am-inspired RSA design on the back – serving as a nod to aviation style.
Finishing off the collaboration are accessories like leather passport holders, hats, socks, luggage tags and a blanket.
Check out the lookbook above for a look at the offering. The Mr. Saturday x Roots Airlines capsule releases on Friday, December 2 on Roots’ website and with select retailers.
