It’s time to grab those wishlists: the holiday season is in full swing and sneaker brands are bringing the heat to warm up the end-of-year winter chill. This week, the usual suspects of Nike, adidas, New Balance and more lead the way in our roundup of best sneaker drops. However, before we give you the full breakdown, let’s review the top headlines of the past week.

In Hypebeast’s latest installment of Sole Mates, Sneaker Law co-founder Kenneth Anand spoke to his love for the Air Jordan 5 alongside how he’s managed to combine his profession and passion. Additional discussions included Nike’s outlining of its SNKRS bot protection and the announcement of Kyrie Irving no longer being a Nike athlete.

Looking at other Nike headlines, Yoon Ahn’s AMBUSH had official images of its upcoming Nike Air Force 1 Low collaboration revealed in “Game Royal” and “Green.” Release dates for Billie Eilish’s Nike Air Force 1 Low pack, the Nike Terminator High “Cocoa Snake” and the Off-White™ x Nike Air Terra Forma surfaced as well. At Art Basel Miami Beach 2022, “Virgil Abloh: The Codes c/o Architecture” served as a tribute to Abloh’s artistry. Miami also saw the release of the Nike LeBron 20 “Art Basel,” limited to 200 pairs in production. Lastly, detailed looks at the Nike Air Max 1 Ugly Duckling “Honeydew” and SOULGOODS x Nike Dunk High “‘00s” were shared by the Swoosh.

As for Nike’s Jordan Brand subsidiary, it revealed the Air Jordan 7 “Black Olive” alongside its golf division’s Air Jordan 1 High Golf “Midnight Navy.” A first look at the Air Jordan 1 High OG Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and an on-foot breakdown of the Air Jordan 4 SE Craft “Photon Dust” also popped up.

Elsewhere in footwear, JJJJound teased its take on the iconic adidas Samba. Other collaborative news included SZA’s next collection with Crocs, featuring distressed denim patterns. Meanwhile, Salehe Bembury appeared courtside in his upcoming Moncler kicks. Rounding out the list, Tremaine Emory’s footwear with Dior saw its first teaser and Converse showcased its A-COLD-WALL* x Converse Geo Forma Boot.

MSCHF Gobstomper “Sour Edition”

Release Date: December 6
Release Price: $195 USD
Where to Buy: MSCHF
Why You Should Cop: MSCHF continues to take a concept and push it to its limits. With the Gobstomper silhouette, the devious brand has tapped into the wear-away trend and has provided a sneaker that can be worn down from head to toe. For those who enjoy a good story behind their sneakers, you’ll easily be able to recount the time your friend stepped on your heel and when you tumbled down the stairs exiting a dive bar.

NOCTA x Nike Air Force 1 Low “Love You Forever”

Release Date: December 8
Release Price: $160 USD
Where to Buy: SNKRS
Why You Should Cop: Drake’s NOCTA line is now seeing the release of its collaborative AF1s via Nike after a series of delays. Fans of the Certified Lover Boy artist are finally offered the opportunity to upgrade their all-white Air Forces to a pair with a co-sign from the 6 God himself. If a Drake fan that you love is on your holiday shopping list, this is the gift that’ll have them loving you forever.

Salehe Bembury x New Balance 990v2 “Sand Be the Time”

Release Date: December 8
Release Price: TBC
Where to Buy: Spunge Webstore
Why You Should Cop: It’s that time of year again, Salehe Bembury and New Balance have cooked up yet another project for sneakerheads to indulge in. Led by a campaign video featuring Thundercat, the “Sand Be the Time” title comes to life as the artist takes an expressive sled ride down a sand dune. As for the sneaker itself, orange, dusty pink and purple outfit suede, mesh and rubber elements. Notably, this version of the 990v2 features a more prominent, wide-gauge athletic mesh, continuing Bembury’s usage of the material from previous collaborative releases with New Balance.

Nike Air Max Scorpion “Black”

Release Date: December 8
Release Price: $250 USD
Where to Buy: SNKRS
Why You Should Cop: The exaggerated size of the Air Max Scorpion’s sole unit is the only part of the shoe that ditches the ordinary with this all-black colorway. For those looking to silence the chaos that backs the silhouette, effectively muting the eye-catching nature of the newest Air Max, this is the best option Nike has provided yet. Following colorful arrangements on the sneaker, Nike now lets the shape speak for itself as the Flyknit-chenille combined upper and oversized sole take on a monochromatic presentation.

Maison Margiela x Reebok Classic Leather Tabi Nylon

Release Date: December 9
Release Price: $350 USD
Where to Buy: Reebok
Why You Should Cop: The fusion of luxury and sportswear’s history is undeniable with Maison Margiela and Reebok’s latest creation. Tapping into Margiela’s longtime adoration for the Japanese-inspired split-toe style and revisiting Reebok’s Classic Nylon from the ‘80s, the resulting Classic Leather Tabi Nylon is a fitting tribute. Presented in simple, yet refined colorways of “White” and “Black,” with a “Navy” pair to come, the sneaker shows its influences without clamoring for attention.

Jacquemus x Nike Air Humara “Pink Flash”

Release Date: December 9
Release Price: $170 USD
Where to Buy: SNKRS
Why You Should Cop: If Jacquemus’ light and dark brown colorways of the Nike Air Humara weren’t bold enough, the “Pink Flash” iteration is sure to be. Blending the luxe design language of the Parisian powerhouse with vintage ACG elements, the duo’s latest creation is ready for a red carpet hike. A textile wrapped midsole joins metal Swooshes, exaggerated lace tips and premium materials in this fashion-forward spin on a classic.

Bad Bunny x adidas Forum Buckle Low “Cloud White”

Release Date: December 10
Release Price: $160 USD
Where to Buy: adidas
Why You Should Cop: Bad Bunny was recently crowned Spotify’s most-streamed artist for the third year in a row. However, that’s not the only place he’s been drawing massive crowds. The pioneering artist has connected with adidas throughout the past two years and despite releasing his collaborative Forum Buckle Low in a total of four colorways, there are plenty of fans of the Puerto Rican superstar who have yet to purchase a pair. Now, as the final entry in the duo’s series on the Forum, “Cloud White” offers the most approachable look yet. The unassuming assembly completes the monochromatic range of launches for the project with emphasized versatility.

Air Jordan 11 “Varsity Red”

Release Date: December 10
Release Price: $225 USD
Where to Buy: SNKRS
Why You Should Cop: ‘Tis the season for retro Jordan Brand releases. Following an exciting November, the Nike subsidiary continues its holiday launches with the Air Jordan 11 “Varsity Red.” A classic look on the now 26-year-old silhouette, red patent leather joins a white upper that suits sneakerheads both young and old. An icy outsole joins in on the fun as traditional Air Jordan 11 branding makes an appearance with red embroidered Jumpman logos and a white “23” print at the heel.

Bodega x New Balance 9060 “Age of Discovery”

Release Date: December 10
Release Price: $180 USD
Where to Buy: Bodega
Why You Should Cop: Concepts isn’t the only Boston-based retailer making collaborative noise this month. Bodega is back with another collaboration after teaming up with Clarks Originals in October. Reconnecting with fellow Boston resident New Balance, Bodega reimagines the sportswear brand’s new 9060 silhouette. Drawing inspiration from Renaissance-style art, the duo focuses on “honoring the old, ushering in the new.” Shades of brown and blue trade hands throughout the mixed material sneaker as New Balance’s latest model triumphantly wraps up its inaugural year.

Slam Jam x Nike Air Force 1 Low “White”

Release Date: December 10
Release Price: $170 USD
Where to Buy: Slam Jam
Why You Should Cop: Bridging Milan and New York City, Italian retailer Slam Jam has joined Nike on a set of Air Force 1 Lows. Debuting in “White,” a familiar presentation of the iconic silhouette is upgraded with collaborative detailing. The perforated toe box features Slam Jam’s flipped “A” logo while the heel tab’s typical “Nike Air” branding is flipped. A co-branded tongue and dual lacing system further differentiates the pair with a themed sockliner and shoe box completing the release’s key specifications.
