Nike Air Max 1 "Ugly Duckling" Pack Adds a "Ceramic" Colorway to Its Arsenal

Nike and its lifestyle catalog feature a lengthy list of iconic collaborations and collections, the latter of which includes the Dunk “Ugly Duckling” Pack that was introduced in 2001. Fast forward over 20 years later, this assemblage is being referenced once more this time on its Air Max 1 silhouette, and its “Ceramic” iteration has just been unveiled.
The nickname of these kicks is the giveaway here and indicates that its overall palette is inspired by the aforementioned collection’s “Ceramic” colorway which retro’d in 2020. Suede backdrops of the base layers are covered in a stealthy black hue and complemented by “Ceramic” mudguards, interior liners and tongue branding. Additionally, the Swoosh logos and the laces have been dyed with a “Honeydew” tint that is a few shades lighter than the green accents that arrive on its muse. In order to further express its motif, the Nike designers have discarded the usual Nike Air heel branding and implemented a duck silhouette. Midsole units down below are styled in white while the treading comes fitted with more “Honeydew” exteriors and speckles indicating their recycled material origin.
