A.P.C. Mixes Neutrals and Tie-Dyes for Its ASICS GEL-SONOMA 15-50 Capsule
Jean Touitou’s French label whips up “Beige,” “Blue” and “Black” colorways of the technical runner.
A.P.C. is venturing back into the space of sneaker collaborations and engineering a three-pronged assemblage of GEL-SONOMA 15-50 colorways with ASICS. It’s the latest team-up that Jean Touitou — A.P.C.’s creative director and founder — is adding to the brand’s catalog following interactions with Lacoste and Ron Herman from earlier this year.
Considering how the French label has executed a myriad of ventures with Nike, a team-up with ASICS may come as somewhat of a surprise. However, in 2022, ASICS has noticeably been aligning with strong imprints in the fashion space, so this simply serves as an extension of that movement.
Like many of its in-house product launches, minimalism and austerity are the focal points for this collaboration. The set is made up of “Beige,” “Blue” and “Black” colorways, all of which are designed with playful tie-dyed laces and lace loops, the latter of which lace loops that start from the throat and extend out to touch the mudguards. Plastic bubbles are implemented on the outer edges of the shoe and come styled with co-branded hits.
Parties interested in copping can find these dropping via A.P.C. on December 9 and December 16 2022 in all ASICS stores and affiliated retailers.
