The start of 2023 is just around the corner which means folks of Chinese descent will soon start to prepare for Chinese New Year. And it’s usually around this time of the year when Nike will start to tease its special footwear pieces that will align with the festive celebration. One will be this Nike Air Force 1 Low “San Francisco Chinatown” colorway that, after being revealed by way of official imagery, has now resurfaced in the form of detailed on-foot shots.

As you can probably infer by its moniker, this makeup draws inspiration from San Francisco’s Chinatown neighborhood — the largest Chinatown that’s based outside of Asia and the oldest in North America. Smooth uppers are predominantly engineered with white leather but come accented by pink gradient Swooshes, and soft pink lotus flower embellishments that are situated on the lateral heels. In Chinese culture, the lotus flower is a symbol of the heart and mind’s purity. Tongues swap out their usual Nike Air branding for more pink gradient banners that feature gilded flowers, Chinese characters and tiny Swooshes. Down under, the rear ends of the midsoles feature more spray-on pink gradients while the treading is equipped with a translucent tint.

Be on the lookout for Nike to launch these in the upcoming months.

Elsewhere in sneakers, a Nike’s Air Max TW “Red Clay” colorway has been revealed.
