Founded on the Maine seafront in 1876, American footwear pioneer G.H. Bass is grounded in quality production. As the creator of the penny loafer, the label often keeps innovation in its stride and now introduces its debut vegan offering.

The brand’s classic Weejuns model is fashioned with completely sustainable construction, dubbed the Cactus Leather Loafer. Arriving in “Green,” “Burgundy,” and “Black” colorways, the dandy silhouette has been reimagined using Desserto® leather alternatives, which prides itself on an eco-friendly assembly process.

The hand-stitched shoe boasts a moccasin-like look resulting in an everyday staple that can be dressed up or down for any occasion. The cactus leather has been designed with a natural finish and features soft liners and insoles crafted from the same elegant material. G.H. Bass’ Cactus Leather Loafer rests on traditional Weejuns lug sole units made from recycled rubber, completing the design.

The Cactus Leather Loafers is available to purchase now via the G.H. Bass website and select retail locations for £175 GBP (approximately $202 USD).
