Take a Look at the New A$AP Nast x Reebok Zig Kinetica 2.5
The best one yet?
Music and fashion have always been at one. When looking at past figures, the likes of Run D.M.C. have influenced the industry with their low-riding denim and chunky Timberland boots and even Tupac recently inspired Karim Benzema’s look for this year’s Ballon d’Or ceremony with his frameless glasses and blacked-out suit. However, more recently, figures such as Pharrell Williams and Tyler, the Creator with their respective Billionaire Boys Club and GOLF WANG labels have gone on to break away from their musical stigmas and become respected fashion labels in their own rights.
With this in mind, independent labels aren’t the only music-fashion crossovers that are creating noise. The U.K.’s Skepta has had a long affiliation with Nike — curating limited edition sneakers and apparel such as his Nike Tailwind and Shox silhouettes that have gone on to shake the British streets. Another musician who has followed in the same suit is A$AP Nast. The A$AP Mob member has had a long-standing relationship with British shoe specialists Reebok and now the rapper and fashion mogul has just presented a new iteration of Reebok’s Zig Kinetica — and it could be the best one yet.
Nast is following up on his previous sneaker with Reebok, the Zig Kinetica II Edge — which Hypebeast spoke with Nast about for its Sole Mates series — and it merged natural and futuristic elements to express Nast’s passions for style and design. However, this newest Zig Kinetica is coated in seasonal tones of black and brown. Crafted with a synthetic and mesh upper, the shoe also comes with splashes of red, while the removable shrouds bring an extra layer of protection around the ankles to protect wearers from inconvenient splashes. Rounding off the design, the shoe includes Vibram handles on the soles that give added comfort on off-road terrains and long outdoor excursions.
You can have a closer look at A$AP Nast’s NST2 x Reebok Zig Kinetica 2.5 above and it will be available on the official Reebok website and select retailers December 2 for $180 USD.
