G-SHOCK Partners With Wasted Youth for a Limited Collaboration
Bringing a fresh feel to the ever-so-popular DW-5900 model.
CASIO’s G-SHOCK has teamed up with VERDY’s label Wasted Youth to launch the DW-5900WY-2JR model in a limited-edition capsule collaboration, alongside co-branded hoodies and T-shirts.
Bringing a fresh feel to G-SHOCK’s ever-so-popular DW-5900 model, the collab edition boasts a simple and timeless color scheme of navy blue and white. The front of the watch displays a bowtie-like monogram pattern with co-branding details, with the motif repeated as a cut-out feature on the strap keeper. When the EL backlight is switched on, Wasted Youth’s initials are revealed on the digital clock face. The case for the watch is designed to emulate the look and feel of a beer can, citing influences from Wasted Youth’s previous collab with Budweiser. The special edition watch will retail for ¥15,400 JPY (approximately $111 USD).
The collab also includes a co-branded hoodie and T-shirt. Both styles feature Wasted Youth and G-SHOCK’s logos in navy blue on the front, while a large illustrated print of the watch alongside a single tulip sprouting from the beer can-like case graces the back. The hoodie is priced at ¥18,700 (approximately $124 USD), meanwhile, the T-shirt comes at ¥6,600 (approximately $48 USD).
The Wasted Youth x G-SHOCK collection is due to release on December 9 in Japan via G-SHOCK and VERDY’s Gift Shop. The DW-5900WY-2JR watch will be available for pre-order starting December 1 via G-SHOCK’s official website. The collection is also scheduled to release internationally, although no official dates for the other regions are announced yet.
