Here's a Closer Look at Skepta's Nike Air Max Tailwind V "Bloody Chrome"
The UK rapper and the Swoosh reunite for another lifestyle collaboration.
Skepta and Nike have been in the kitchen cooking up some striking collaborations as of late, and after unleashing the Air Max Tailwind V “Chrome Blue” to the public back April, the two parties are following this up with a “Bloody Chrome” iteration. After being previewed in May alongside its football boot release sibling just ahead of the European Championships, the impending installment has just been revealed by way of more detailed imagery.
Right away, the colors and various materials on this offering jump right out to you. The patterned uppers draw from that of a butterfly and the process of metamorphosis. The London-based rapper makes use of wing-like graphics ripped right from the flying insect, and surrounds it with black webbing from the mid-foot to the toe tips. Out back, a metallic silver overlay cuts in from the midsole and extends to the collars, and the heel sections are dripped with an iridescent layer. More chrome accents are found atop the Swooshes that land on the side panels. Like many of his previous collaborations, the “Sk Air” branding makes its presence felt and arrives on the tongues. Down below, the bottom piece comes prepared with the all-black look.
Mark your calendars for a June 12 release via SNKRS and select retailers, and note they will be priced at $180 USD.
