Madelen Nyau’s T1TAN STUDIO Launches Debut Collection With Fred Segal
The emerging designer will unveil the collection as part of her winning the store’s second annual Season Zero design contest.

It’s been more than 60 years since the first Fred Segal store opened in Los Angeles, California. Part of the company’s ethos is to help foster the next generation of design talent through niche programming and collaborations, including its annual Season Zero design contest.
Madelen Nyau and her T1TAN STUDIO fashion brand recently won the store’s second annual Season Zero design contest (presented by Mastercard®) and will launch her debut collection at Fred Segal. The Brooklyn-based, Zambian-born and Queens-raised designer uses her designs to tackle adversity and explores concepts of science, psychology and quantum mechanics.
The brand’s new collection features denim coats and pants, knit tops and unwaxed canvas pants. Her knitwear comprises Shima Seiki stiffening technology for tops, and the use of crochet and poly fabrics are also present in the collection.
Madelen Nyau’s debut T1TAN STUDIO collection is now available via its Fred Segal pop-up store location and on the retailer’s website, with prices ranging from $125 USD to $595 USD.
