Dave Has Just Debuted a New Balance x Stone Island Football Jersey

U.K. rap star, Dave, has just debuted a New Balance x Stone Island football kit at his annual Santan Cup tournament. The Streatham-raised rhymer recently previewed his own clothing line, Psycho, in collaboration with Brazilian football legend Adriano and he also just performed at BOSS’ rescheduled London Fashion Week party in the U.K.’s capital last night. And while Hypebeast recently explored how much U.K. rap and fashion are crossing over, Santandave seems to be doing things slightly differently.
The football competition made its debut back in 2017 and has become an annual event since. Dave founded the day-long kick-about and it sees the best in the U.K. rap scene come together to compete. This year, the competition headed out of London and was hosted in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil — the same place Dave presented his Adriano-inspired Psycho collection — and it saw a collection of bespoke football jerseys take to the field, with the main attraction being Dave’s New Balance x Stone Island kit.
New Balance were noted as the official sponsor for this year’s Santan Cup, and NB’s Stone Island jersey came with a golden color palette with speckles of black detailing coated throughout. Coming with a snakeskin-inspired design, the kit also features a snap-button crewneck collar with white detailing, while the customary New Balance and Stone Island branding, as well as the team crest, are coated in black.
Dave donning New Balance branded items is an interesting move from the rapper, who has been a long-term Nike affiliate since the start of his career. While we await release info on the co-branded kit and any other involvement with Dave and New Balance, you can take a closer look at the kit and what went down at the Santan Cup above and be sure to keep an eye on Dave’s official Instagram page for further details.
