Nike is bringing back Charles Barkley’s Air Max 2 CB 94 in the Phoenix Suns’ official colorway. Early last year, the silhouette donned the OG “Varsity Purple” scheme for another retro launch since 2015. Aside from the primary iteration, Barkley’s known silhouette has been seen on the shelves quite frequently in the past few years as the sportswear giant has rolled them out in a number of renditions such as the “USA,” “Cool Gray” and “Triple Black.”

Back in the 1992-93 NBA season, the All-Star power forward “Sir Charles” was traded to the Suns from the Philadelphia 76ers and went on to claim the MVP title as he led the team with the NBA-best 62–20 record to the Finals with an average of 25.6 points and 12.1 rebounds per game. Though Barkley only spent four seasons with the Suns, he continuously made headlines as he earned numerous All-NBA and All-Star honors during that period.

Opting for a purely white tumbled leather build, this classic 1994 installment reveals black mesh punctures throughout the laterals and medials for ventilation while further black accents are found on the rubber eyelets, sock liner, heel pull tab and Barkley’s #34 embroidery on the lateral heel. The tongue is adorned by a rubber Air Max logo badge while further branding elements are done in purple around the heels and quarters. The shoe sports a black wavy midsole over a white outsole with a split of orange on the forefront and a red Air Max unit.

The Nike Air Max CB 94 “Suns” is slated to release on February 1 at select retailers and Nike’s website for $160 USD.
