A new first look image has surfaced, introducing Jurassic World: Dominion fans to a new protagonist set to star alongside Chris Pratt. The third installment of the dinosaur franchise will see the return of Jurassic Park‘s original cast members including Jeff Goldblum, Laura Dern and Sam Neill.
The film’s director Colin Trevorrow and titular actor Chris Pratt posted to their respective social media channels a new image that shows DeWanda Wise carrying what appears to be a taser, standing next to Pratt’s character Owen Grady who is holding a knife. While Trevorrow keeps the caption for the image simple with “Heroes,” Pratt writes, “Cannot wait to share the silver screen with the great and powerful @dewandawise as she makes an entrance you will never forget. Blessed. Humbled. Grateful.”
DeWanda Wise starred in She’s Gotta Have It and Shots Fired and also recently appeared in Netflix’s Fatherhood. Her character in Jurassic World: Dominion has yet to be revealed. When speaking about the film, Trevorrow revealed to Entertainment Weekly.
“When you got to the end of the Jurassic Park trilogy, it may not have been as clear in what the complete story of those three movies was because they were a bit more episodic in the way that they were approached. But this trilogy is not that way.
It’s very much a serialized story. What was important for me was, when you watch Dominion, you really feel like you are learning how much of a story that first set of movies was and how everything that happened in those movies actually informs what ultimately is able to happen in this.”
Jurassic World: Dominion releases in theaters on June 10, 2022.
