Following the duo’s initial collaboration, Graphpaper and Mizuno link up once again to deliver a new edition of the Wave Prophecy X. The Tokyo-based label has had a productive year in 2021 with further joint efforts between the likes of N.HOOLYWOOD, Hajime Sorayama and White Mountaineering for a pack of two new Wave Prophecy 10 designs. Mizuno’s Wave Prophecy series has garnered a lot of attention due to its signature Wave system mid-sole with hallowed crevices taking elevation and comfort to a new level.
This latest installment recalls the Wave Prophecy Sorayama as it pulls inspiration from Marcel Breuer’s iconic Wassily chair — believed to be the first tubular steel chair and known for its sleek simplistic structure which is equally lightweight and suave. The silhouette’s uppers are constructed with all black ripstop nylon and strips of suede overlays matching plush leather sock liners. In contrast to the nominal hue, the heel cap and midsole are molded in polished silver to resemble the chair’s steel legs. Hints of gray line the sole over a black rubber outsole to complete the look.
The Graphpaper x Mizuno Wave Prophecy X is available for ¥35,200 JPY (approximately $304 USD) at Graphpaper Framework, Graphpaper AOYAMA, Graphpaper KYOTO, Graphpaper SENDAI and other select retailers.
In case you missed it, Grounds’ Moopie sneaker is bigger and more bulbous than ever.
