UPDATE (January 23, 2022): NIGO presents his debut KENZO FW22 collection at this year’s Paris Fashion Week. Livestream the show exclusively on the HYPEBEAST Instagram channel or via the broadcast below.

ORIGINAL STORY (January 21, 2022): Back in September, when NIGO was announced as the next creative director for Kenzo, discussion was rife about what to expect. Would NIGO draw from the bohemian style of the brand’s founder, the late Kenzo Takada? Would he lean into the poppier aesthetic of Humberto Leon and Carol Lim’s eight-year tenure at the brand? Or would he pivot to something entirely new?

The answers are set to be revealed this Sunday January 23, at 11am CET, when NIGO’s first presentation for the brand will take place during Paris Fashion Week. HYPEBEAST will be live-streaming the show on its Instagram channel.

So far, the brand has wiped its entire Instagram feed, replacing it only with a cryptic teaser trailer showing flowers blooming through a Parisian ceiling. Alongside that, a pair of short video messages from Pharrell Williams and Pusha T show the musicians sending personalized messages to NIGO ahead of the reveal.

“You’re the general,” Williams says, in his recording. “This is the very beginning, man.”
