When you’re the billionaire owner of some of the world’s most prestigious luxury brands and one of the world’s richest men you can flex in a way few can.

Until now it was assumed the only Tiffany Blue Patek Philippe dials were to be found on the 170 limited edition 5711 watches created to celebrate the 170th Anniversary of relationship between Patek Philippe and Tiffany & Co.

But LVMH owner Bernard Arnault blew that theory out of the water on Saturday when his son and TAG Heuer CEO, Frédéric Arnault, posted a picture of the pair playing chess on Instagram.

On Frédéric’s wrist was what looked like a TAG Heuer Carrera, but there could be no doubt about what his father was wearing, a unique Tiffany Blue Patek Philippe 5740, a white gold perpetual calendar in the Nautilus family.

A close-up of the watch reveals the same pairing of Tiffany Blue dial and black and white hour markers and hands as used on the 5711 pieces, but here with the addition of black perpetual calendar sub dial lettering and a moonphase window.

While the Tiffany Blue 5711 models retailed at $52,635 – with one even selling at a charity auction for $6.5m USD – it’s impossible to put a price on a 5740 unique piece.
