Children of the Discordance Investigates the World of BMX for its FW22 "Reason" Collection
Expressing eclectic vintage flair.

For its Fall/Winter 2022 collection, Children of the Discordance continues its exploration of Japanese youth investigating the world of BMX. Titled “Reason,” the seasonal range is once again defined by eclectic vintage flair which comes through a mix of upcycled textiles and familiar silhouettes.
Aside from its usual patchwork bandana constructions, Children of the Discordance’s FW22 collection features a variety of patterns, striking graphic flourishes, badge placements, and chunky mohair knits. Continuing the retro focus is a series of styles that utilize cut-up vintage T-shirts, refashioned into long-sleeve tees, shorts and more. A relaxed stance is expressed throughout the collection, most notably found in the selection of outerwear that references a variety of classic jacket and coat types.
A video showing a cast of BMX riders dressed in the FW22 “Reason” collection accompanies the lookbook. Riding through an urban landscape, the eight-minute showcase serves as an intersection between Children of the Discordance and the enduring youth subculture in Japan.
