The YEEZY Gap Hoodie Is Reselling Online for Astronomical Prices
Most sizes sold out within hours of the drop.
YEEZY Gap on Wednesday dropped the nicknamed “Perfect Hoodie” in a plethora of colors, spanning from muted tones of black, brown and yellow-beige to more vibrant shades of purple, red and blue, at a price point of $90 USD. By Thursday morning, most adult sizes were already unavailable, and now, resellers have posted the coveted garment to online marketplaces for a range of soaring prices.
The sweatshirts are now listed on Depop for prices up to $899.99 USD, and multiple listings have popped up on eBay for prices ranging from $140 USD to $550 USD.
Gap‘s YEEZY collaboration widely appeals to Kanye West’s massively loyal fanbase. In fact, the retailer expects to rake in $1 billion USD from the partnership within eight years, according to a report from Bloomberg in March.
The Gap deal, coupled with several sneaker and apparel lines, puts YEEZY at a valuation of $3.2 billion USD to $4.7 billion USD by UBS Group AG, as reported in a private document reviewed by the outlet.
Each newly-released hoodie is made with 100% double-layer cotton and comes in unisex sizing for both adults and children. In lieu of drawstrings or added hood details, the design boasts a noticeably oversized fit with a drop shoulder and a large pocket on the front.
The drop was exclusive to the U.S. and orders will not ship for another two to eight weeks.
