The Nike Waffle One Gets a Little ACG Flair
Thanks to its new “Coconut Milk” colorway.

One of Nike‘s most interesting lifestyle options for summer 2021, the Waffle One has taken on everything from bright green color schemes to minimal mesh uppers — but now it’s heading to the great outdoors for inspiration, thanks to a new “Coconut Milk” colorway that seems to draw from retro Nike ACG product.
Though the Waffle One is decidedly modern-day in its shape and build, “Coconut Milk” is all ’90s hiking shoe in its color palette. Uppers feature a synthetic build with an interesting, diamond-shaped tan pattern. This base is supported by tan suede overlays on the mudguard, heel and eyestays. Small touches of teal contrast stitching bring some vibrance into the equation, as do purple trim and orange text on the tongue. Rich brown appears on the LDWaffle-style double heel clip, and tan midsoles add gray speckles for even more flair. A Nike Grind-style take on Bill Bowerman‘s famous waffle outsole rounds off the look.
The Nike Waffle One “Coconut Milk” is available now at Japanese retailers like atmos, and will likely arrive in the US in the coming weeks. It’s priced at $110 USD.
