New Balance's 991 Releases With a Patriotic Color Palette
Metallic overlays are accompanied by navy and red accents.

It’s been two decades since the New Balance 991 was first introduced to the sneaker landscape, and given this new resurgence of dad-friendly kicks and lifestyle runners, the silhouette is one that is relishing in the limelight. In 2021, the model has dropped in a variety of GR iterations, and now it will be further advancing this streak with a patriotic silver and navy colorway.
The base layer of these street-ready kicks are made up of mesh, suede and synthetic materials. A charcoal gray hue tints the underlying mesh materials and comes contrasted with lighter gray suede mudguards and overlays along the forefoot, heels and mid-foot that are dyed with a metallic silver finish. Its USA-esque accents are shown through navy and red hits, the former of which touches on the N logos and collars while the latter pops up on the tongue’s “New Balance” branding, the first set of eye lets and higher parts of the heel. As usual, the midsoles split between a white panel in the front, a bone-greyish section out back and a black heel mold.
Select retailers like Foot District have these available to buy right now for €200 (approx. $235 USD).
