Michaela Coel has reportedly been cast in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Details of the British star’s character are yet to be revealed, however sources have stated that she was in Atlanta’s Pinewood Studios with director Ryan Coogler. Production for the sequel began late last month in Atlanta and Kevin Feige previously stated, “It’s clearly very emotional without Chad. But everyone is also very excited to bring the world of Wakanda back to the public and back to the fans. We’re going to do it in a way that would make Chad proud.”

Coel starred in Star Wars: The Last Jedi and two episodes of Black Mirror before her creating, directing, writing and starring in her hit BBC One/HBO series, I May Destroy You. Both the actress and the show are currently in the running for five Emmys, including Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series, Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie, Outstanding Directing for a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie and Outstanding Writing for a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie.

Stay tuned for more info. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever premieres July 8, 2022.
