Jean Paul Gaultier x sacai x Nike Vaporwaffle Capsule is Dropping in September
Coming in “Black/White” and “Blue/Sesame” colorways.
When talking about powerful collaborative forces in footwear right now, there’s no question that sacai and Nike have to be included in the conversation. Both parties have a variety of sneakers that are expected to hit the shelves in the coming months including three-way projects with the likes of UNDERCOVER, KAWS and Jean Paul Gaultier, the latter of which has now just received an official release time frame.
Together, the luxury French designer, Chitose Abe and the Swoosh team have (literally) taken the unique Vaporwaffle silhouette to new heights. The model has been beefed up to a higher cut, and features new Air Woven-esque expose stitchings that run along the mid-foot and ankle collars. Two colorways are included in this impending capsule, one being a two-toned “Black/White” offering while the other is a more adventurous “Blue/Sesame” offering. The base layers of each pair are prepared with a blend of suede, calf leather and mesh materials, and the fashion forward sole piece retains its aggressive double-stacked and lipped-out aesthetic. Heels and tongues bear co-branded hits from Nike and sacai while the insoles are adorned with a Jean Paul Gaultier spell out.
sacai has confirmed that both propositions will be dropping towards the end of September.
