On-Foot Look at the UNDERCOVER x sacai x Nike LDWaffle "Bright Citron"
The three-party, double-stacked sneaker is centered around vibrant “Bright Citron” accents.
sacai and Nike are expanding the LDWaffle lineup in 2021 by bringing in new collaborative partners, one of which is Jun Takahashi‘s UNDERCOVER. The result of Takahashi’s work with sacai’s Chitose Abe and Nike Sportswear‘s design team? The LDWaffle “Bright Citron,” a shoe that we now have an on-foot look at thanks to noted sneaker leaker repgod888.
Gray, sail, black and “Bright Citron” meet on the shoe’s color scheme, drawing some palette parallels to the UNDERCOVER x Nike Daybreak “Bright Citron” from 2019. A black nylon base serves as the canvas for a duo of Swooshes, double-stacked tongues, eyestays and laces, layered mudguards and heel pieces and a heel tab with co-branded detailing.
Though the multiplied stylings — and to an extent the color scheme — may be somewhat familiar at this point, what’s most unique about the UNDERCOVER x sacai x Nike LDWaffle is the branding on the midsole’s extended heel piece. A detail not present on past releases, it lists out each collaborative party’s name in black text. These midsoles are made from sail EVA foam, and sit above a “Bright Citron” waffle outsole to complete the look.
The UNDERCOVER x sacai x Nike LDWaffle “Bright Citron” has yet to receive an official release date, but will likely hit shelves this fall. In the meantime, take a look at on and off-foot shots below.
