Reebok Has Transformed the Club C Into a Mule
We know what we’re rocking at the tennis club this summer.
Everything is a mule, and keen to keep this momentum going is Reebok‘s new line of Club C laceless, backless mules. Available in three original colors — “Chalk/Glen Green,” “Ftwr White,” and “Core Black” — these mules combine everything there is to love about the Club C (in all its retro glory) with the not so newfound love for all things cozy and versatile.
The drop comes right off the back off of Reebok’s just-announced Power Rangers collaboration and another partnership with the sneaker retailer Offspring, so again the footwear giant really does show no signs of slowing down this year. Like most mules, this silhouette is destined to be a hit for Reebok, and that’s not just because of the fan-favorite shape it has adopted.
In “Chalk/Glen Green” specification, the Club C mule is a sure sell-out. The classic tennis look has been simplified, with the mid-panel sporting just a classic branded window alongside a signature placement of overlapping leather. The medial side is even simpler, while the lack of laces makes for a fuss-free vamp and tongue section that’s finished with a tongue tag, and nothing else.
A terry cotton lining and insole round out the pair. In “Ftwr White,” this recipe feels even more stripped back and simplistic thanks to the stark white aesthetic, while the “Core Black” offering adds more texture as the grains in the leather are more visible.
