Oregon Track and Field Receives an Air Jordan 1 Mid PE
Designed by Tinker Hatfield — a former Ducks track and field athlete.

Jordan Brand has blessed the Oregon Ducks‘ track and field team with a new Air Jordan 1 Mid PE designed by Tinker Hatfield. Though Oregon’s football and basketball teams get a lion’s share of the PE sneakers produced by Nike, the Ducks’ track and field squad plays a very important role in the brand’s lineage: co-founder Phil Knight ran for other co-founder Bill Bowerman on the team, and Tinker Hatfield himself was once a UO pole vaulter.
With history and roots this rich — plus a sparkling new Nike-funded stadium — it’s seemingly only right that the Ducks track and field team gets a moment in the PE spotlight with this mid-cut Air Jordan 1. Hatfield’s design uses a mixture of slate and smoke gray shades on its suede upper, then rims this murky middle with bright neon green on the outsole, collar and tongue. Of course, there’s plenty of bold branding to be had as well: the tongue’s Jumpman is encircled by a familiar yellow Oregon O and a tri-color Oregon Track shield graces the heel. Collar flaps add extra branded detailing with a familiar ball-and-wings logos on the lateral half and Hatfield’s signature debossed on the medial half. Lastly, gray Swooshes, laces and nylon tongues work with white midsoles to round off the look.
As this is indeed a player edition sneaker made for the Oregon track and field team, it will not see a retail release.
Elsewhere in the world of Jordan Brand, Upper Deck is selling an Air Jordan 11 “Bred” autographed by Michael Jordan himself.
