Mihara Yasuhiro Utilizes Biodegradable Materials for New "General Scale" Sneakers
The new high and low-top kicks come in white, black, red and blue colorways.
After manufacturing a collection of nylon-infused sandals back in February 2021, Mihara Yasuhiro is broadening his sneaker portfolio with a brand new line titled “General Scale”. This new collection will hone in on the usage of naturally derived materials from environmentally friendly factories and production areas, and its first batch of products to be released is a range of high and low-top “Plants Material” sneakers.
Much like previously launched footwear from the Japanese designer, the overall design language of the shoes retain its Converse Jack Purcell-esque sort of vibe. Each pair opts to go with a solid-toned upper and comes color-blocked with creamy shoe laces, toe caps and midsoles. Four colorways are included in the capsule including neutral options of white and black and more playful red and blue iterations fit for the Summertime. Branding is minimal and drops off on the tongues and along the insoles, both of which print out the words “General Scale” above Mihara Yasuhiro‘s namesake.
Select retailers like atmos have this collection available for purchase right now. The high top versions cost ¥ 40,700 (approx. $371.20 USD) while the low-slung makeups will run you ¥38,500 (approx. $351 USD).
In case you missed it, Maison Mihara Yasuhiro’s deconstructed FW21 capsule has been unveiled.
