ASICS Unveils Kiko Kostadinov Studio-Curated FB1-S GEL-PRELEUS
Created by womenswear designers Laura and Deanna Fanning.
The ongoing relationship between ASICS and Kiko Kostadinov‘s design studio has resulted in a new womenswear silhouette. Curated by the Womenswear studio (led by Laura and Deanna Fanning), the FB1-S GEL-PRELEUS is based on an archival model that has been reimagined for a new retro-futuristic aesthetic.
The sneaker is constructed from a multi-layered mesh and leather upper, with the materials moulded into feminine-inspired shapes. Elsewhere, the silhouette features a GEL tooling in the sole, giving the sneaker its distinctive aesthetic. The new sneaker arrives in either “Metropolis/Carrier Grey” or “Pink Rave/Olive Canvas.”
Speaking about the shoe, womenswear designers at the Kiko Kostadinov studio Laura and Deanna Fanning said, “The inferred speed from the dynamic curved line in side profile and tooling inspired us to facilitate the development of this archive style for women. The [GELTM] Preleus offers depth and height in the arch of the heel that was a great contrast in consideration of the diversity of ASICS Styles for women.”
The FB1-S GEL-PRELEUS is available now from the ASICS web store in both colorways.
ASICS has also recently partnered with Nice Kicks for an ice cream-inspired collaboration.
