Director James Wan Reveals Official 'Aquaman 2' Film Title
The DC film is set to release on December 16, 2022.

Director James Wan has officially unveiled the title for his upcoming Aquaman sequel, which will be called Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
The second installment of the Aquaman franchise sees Jason Mamoa reprise his role as Aquaman. Amber Heard and Patrick Wilson are expected to return as Mera and Orm respectively. Wan is producing the film in tandem with Peter Safran and David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick has confirmed his return to pen the script. The first Aquaman film was first released in 2018 and grossed over $1 billion USD. It became the only DC film to reach that big of a number since Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy.
Aside from Aquaman 2, Wan is set to launch his next directorial effort, Malignant, an original horror hitting theaters and HBO Max this September. Initially, he was developing another horror Aquaman spinoff, but Warner Bros. opted from moving forward with the project back in April.
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is currently on track for release on December 16, 2022.
