Megan Thee Stallion Releases the Hot Girl Summer 2021 Anthem "Thot Shit"
Revealing on Twitter that she wrote the song to take “ownership of the words ‘thot’ and ‘hoe.’”
Megan Thee Stallion is returning from hiatus with the release of her new single, “Thot Shit.”
The official Hot Girl Summer 2021 anthem features production from Lil Ju and OG Parker, while its music video sees the rapper exacting revenge on a senator who leaves a disturbingly misogynistic comment on her “Body” music video. She reminds him that the women he degrades are the same ones that haul his trash, serve him food and protect him when he’s asleep. Responding to a fan on Twitter, Megan Thee Stallion explained that she wrote “Thot Shit” to reclaim words men have used to degrade women over the years. “I’m really just talking sh*t and taking ownership of the words “thot” and “hoe” bc they’re not the drag the men think it is when trying to come at women for doing them,” she wrote.
When she announced the new single, Megan Thee Stallion also revealed that she will be reviving her famed alter ego, Tina Snow. “Thot Shit” arrives two months after she shared that she will be going on hiatus. “Megan Thee Stallion is recharging! Due to the demands of the Hot Girl lifestyle has now entered a period of regeneration to prepare for what’s next. ….In her absence; mgmt will manage all social posting on behalf of Thee Hot Girl Coach.
