The Skateroom and Raymond Pettibon Link up for Second Skate Deck Release
Only 250 numbered editions produced for each artwork.
After releasing the No Title (I see the…) six-deck set, The Skateroom links up with American artist, Raymond Pettibon, once again for their second deck set collaboration.
The Skateroom takes a dive into Raymond Pettibon’s baseball-themed archive to create two limited edition sets using the artist’s 250: No Title (The raised hands…), 2013 and No Title (Boston Brave), 2017 artworks. The artwork details Pettibon’s attraction to the visual language flow of baseball.
The No Title (Boston Brave) triptych showcases baseball player, Warren Spahn, in the middle of throwing a left-handed pitch. The single No Title (The raised hands…) deck features the pitcher with his arms raised in motion of a pitch with text over the artwork reading, “The raised hands in glove in full wind up, or the pause at pitching out of a stretch: ambiguous signatures for sure; but these are neither images or pose — balk — but the distinct shifts of manner, and the indication of a fullness of meaning which it is unnecessary to pursue”.
Raymond Pettibon and The Skateroom’s deck set collaboration are produced in limited and numbered editions of 250 with a printed signature of the artist and a certificate of authenticity. The collaboration is exclusively sold on The Skateroom’s web store and the MoMA Design Store website for $750 USD.
