Nike's Air Tuned Max Gets Served Up With a "White/Racer Blue" Palette
A bright and understated colorway for the 1999 Swoosh model.

Every year, Nike tends to take on some archival digging within its Sportswear catalog to reintroduce its classics to the modern day sneaker consumer. 2021 marked the return of the Air Tuned Max, and after seeing revivals for its OG “Celery” and “Midnight Navy” offerings, the silhouette is now cooking up a fresh new “White/Racer Blue” iteration.
Most of this installment’s presentation leans on grayscale tones to wrap most of its upper half, but its vibrant accents give it just the right amount of pop. The tongues and mesh underlays on its base are engineered with a black coating, and this comes supported by clean white overlays and “Light Smoke Grey” heel overlays and lateral and medial molds. From there, the “Racer Blue” accents subtle poke out through the innermost borders of the throat as well as the sock liners. Moving downwards, the midsoles — which feature wavy grooves throughout its length — are done up in full white and come mated with a translucent Air unit and black and blue outsoles.
Nike Japan has these loaded up on its site to release soon, but you can also expect them to release stateside in the coming weeks. Retail price is set at $170 USD.
Elsewhere in footwear news, the Nike Offline 2.0 sandal has been unveiled in a clean “Bone” colorway.
