Is Maison Margiela's Nylon Runner the Cleanest Summer Sneaker?
Retro, but make it Margiela.
Maison Margiela‘s sneakers are often the way to go for something minimal and forever on-trend — take a look at its Replica if you need reminding. Now, the high-end imprint has released a new version of its Runner sneaker, this time around prepping it in nylon in a colorway consisting of silver, chalk, and white.
The Nylon Runner adopts a somewhat deconstructed look that frequents many of Maison Margiela’s creations, as the upper appears with lots of overlapping and oversized panels that give this pair a clean yet reconstructed look. A base of white nylon is overlayed with silver suede on the toe box, shaped in Margiela’s signature style, while white leather works the eyestay placket, the tongue (which features another Margiela staple), and the two-piece heel.
On the very top part of the heel towards the shoe’s collar is a single stitch in white, once again marking Margiela’s presence, while a final touch of branding can be found all over the leather insoles. Rounding out the pair is its sole unit, which gives us vintage running sneaker vibes thanks to its low profile and gum outsole.
